I sold a lovely wool peacoat this winter because I accepted that it's become too small for me and no one I know wanted it :( It felt so good that I immediately wanted to declutter more things but it's so true that sometimes old clothes can cure "future boredom". It's a shame about your Akerman jeans! I bought a white pair last year when it went on sale, and it was a big splurge for me so it's disappointing that yours has not aged well. I'm about 20 wears into mine and it looks fine but maybe because I don't wear white jeans to do anything more hardcore than go to the movies/library/restaurants. They might make good kneelength shorts if you cut them?

Those jeans were my dreams come true, till they weren’t. I hope it’s a one off quality issue, given how beloved they are by other women. Maybe biking in them ruined the knee caps ? Unsure. I got my pair on ssense sale for 150$ and sold them for 30$ on marketplace. The buyer wanted to give it a go and I am glad.

I really enjoyed this!

I had a good decluttering earlier this year, and what was great about it was that I didn't feel like I had to immediately fill the empty space. Contemplating and learning is everything, and I love how it's becoming more and more difficult to cull any more pieces. That means good purchases. Not that I'll never make a mistake again because I will!

It’s always been therapeutic to drop off a bag of clothes in a donation box. To not think of re-homing them by myself or doing end of life disposal instructions for the fabric. It’s become easier to wear the clothes some more than to do the decluttering work. Being lazy might help me with my goals this year ? Like one can impulse buy, I have impulse decluttered to regret some subtractions. Slow and lazy, should be my guiding principle.

Decluttering my wardrobe just isn't a regular seasonal overhaul any more, and I'm very smug about it! It has taken quite a lot of effort to get to this oint though, and I did let go of a few items earlier in the year, and passed them on to friends (mainly shoes with heels, which I know I will never wear again). The issue that I'm now having to confront is that if I've got so good at shopping items I want to keep for ever, there's no space for new ones. I know this, I accept it ... but I'm still struggling with it!

Me too. As much as I wear my clothes, nothing is unrepairable worn out under my jurisdiction. Rule of 5-esque growth will keep it under control or else it will suck up the closet space. I am holding on to so many of my office clothes because I am not convinced that WFH is everlasting for me. Heels, silk blouses, slim fit trousers still live out their lives untouched in my closet. Being conservative about subtractions feels like the prudent thing to do, for now.
