Uniform Dressing : Serge Gainsbourg
Serge Gainsbourg died ... 30 years ago. Since then, a lot of things have been said about his unique sense of elegance, but the most important point is this: Serge Gainsbourg had style because he truly wore his clothes to death - always the same outfit for near on 20 years. In contrast to his huge musical repertoire, his wardrobe was incredibly refined. Here is the list of the items found inside a few months after his death:
- a couple of denim kecks, both distressed
- five shirts (clad in white, sky blue, and olive green)
- a few V-neck t-shirts that had been cut with scissors (Gainsbourg wore them under his blazers in an illusion that he was bare chested)
- a pinstripe double breasted blazer
- a perfecto style jacket in exotic leather by Jean-Claude Jitrois
- a peacoat
- twenty pairs of Zizi Repetto shoes, either in white or grey
- a pair of brand new, never worn Flamenco black boots
